5th   INDIA STONEMART IN 2009

India Stonemart – held biennially in Jaipur, India has certainly lived upto its name as a market place for a wide variety of stones and stone products from all over the world. It has now firmly emerged as a name to reckon with in the international stone scene and is now counted amongst the largest and the most prestigious stone fairs in the world. By offering world class infrastructure, coupled with flawless show management, it is now widely accepted as the best stone fair in India. Moreover, with the untiring efforts of Centre for Development of Stones (CDOS) and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), Stonemart has succeeded in positioning Rajasthan as a favorite stone trade destination on the world stone map.

The fifth edition - INDIA STONEMART 2009, will be held at Jaipur during January 8-11, 2009 at Export Promotional Industrial Park, Jaipur, Rajasthan. The exhibition would be organised on a sprawling campus with the net exhibition space being over 15,000 sq.m.

It may be mentioned that India Stonemart 2007 was immensely successful and firmly established Stonemart as a prominent player in the international stone fair community. It drew great applause from all stakeholders of the dimensional stone industry, including quarry owners, processors, exporters, importers, tool & machinery manufacturers, builders, architects and civil engineers besides the general consumers. That the efforts of the organisers succeeded is amply illustrated by the fact over Rs. 650 crore of business/ business enquiries were generated at the exhibition.
 
In order to evaluate the international profile of Stonemart, it would be worthwhile to know that the previous edition had over 355 exhibitors from 11 countries viz. China, Egypt, France, Italy, Germany, Oman, Spain, Turkey, Poland, Vietnam and Greece excluding India itself. Of these, China had their own pavillion.

The Pan India participation in Stonemart can be judged by the fact that Stonemart 2007 had exhibitors from over fifteen Indian states viz. Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Orissa and besides Rajasthan with official state participation from nine of them.

India Stonemart 2007, proved that to a great extent that ‘Stonemart’ is now firmly established as a destination on the international stone calendar. The stone industry is now eagerly awaiting the next edition of India Stonemart to be held during January 8-11, 2009. RIICO and CDOS remain committed to the future growth of India Stonemart

India Stonemart 2009 would showcase the Indian stone Industry in its totality- resources, capacity, capability, the technological advancements; and would also act as a launching pad for newer products.  and technologies. It would be a platform for vibrant varieties of Marble, Granite, Sandstone, Slate, Limestone, quartzite and other decorative building stones, Mining and processing machinery, tools and related services. The scope of the event would include the entire gamut of products and services related to the natural stone sector.

It would be an understatement to state that the Indian stone industry, especially from North India, is now looking forward to the 5th INDIA STONEMART. CDOS, with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) as the co-organiser is sparing no effort in seeking wide participation from the Indian Stone Industry at the exhibition and in seeking international participation as well. The catalysing presence of the Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Ltd. (RIICO) as the co-sponsor, signifies the support of the State Government to the event.

The event has received an overwhelming response since it opened its bookings in January 2006. Some exhibit space is still available for booking however and there is no doubt that exhibiting at India Stonemart would be economically beneficial to the exhibitors. Also, keeping Stonemart on the visiting calendar would be a great business opportunity for all stone traders and consumers.
